Free, weekly sports and physical activity sessions for men with mental health problems at Mansfield Town Football in the Community.
Every Friday morning, the club provides a welcoming, friendly and fun environment for men of all ages, with a range of mental health issues.
The group meets at Mansfield Town Football in the Community’s offices at the One Call Stadium from 10am to 12 noon and is specifically for men with issues such as low self-esteem, isolation, loneliness, depression, anxiety and other forms of mental illness.
Active Minds: Sport is a weekly sports and physical activity sesion, with participants taking part in a range of activities to promote activity and healthy lifestyles. This includes warm-ups,skills sessions, small sided football matches, to games designed to improve communication and confidence as well as improve physical health. (This session is open to males only 18+ and will predominantly take place outdoors, dependent on weather conditions)
Active Minds: Chat is for those who are less mobile and unable to take part in the more physical activities. Men living with dementia and those suffering with a range of mental health problems. Sessions incorporate indoor chair-based sports and physical activities , along with other activities to engage the mind, including quizzes, conversation and positive mental health promotion.
